Crustal
This mineral wall covering adds texture and character to walls. Crustal offers a robust, natural look, with natural depth and variation. Its coarser texture gives the interior a raw, tactile quality, creating a timeless and authentic atmosphere. Crustal also provides an elegant finish for rougher surfaces, as its own structure counterbalances the roughness of the substrate. The refined colors and beautiful textures truly showcase the craftsman’s skill and guarantee an authentic and unique wall.
Crustal is, first and foremost, pigmented throughout. The craftsman can experiment with textures and finishes: working with combs, brushes or spatulas, as well as adding additional colored pigments, allowing for countless textures and shades of color. These colors represent just a selection of the infinite possibilities.
The unique final result on the wall depends entirely on the craftsman and their creativity. The elegant colors and beautiful textures truly showcase the craftsman’s skill and guarantee an authentic and exceptional wall. It is possible to create everything from a uniform, chalky-looking matt finish to a very rough and heavily textured finish. These textures give you an idea, but the possibilities are far more numerous still.
To apply Crustal, you will need Crustal powder (available in 4 kg or 16 kg bags) and Stoopen & Meeus powder pigments. To fully implement the system, you will also need StucPrimer and a suitable topcoat (UniWall 1KPU varnish or CrustalFix). As for tools, you will need a mechanical mixer (mixing tub), clean mixing water, a Venetian trowel and texturing tools (such as a Crustal brush or a Crustal roller). If you opt for a CrustalAccent finish, you will also need CrustalDispers and CrustalFix.
Crustal is a highly versatile, mineral-based decorative wall plaster. This product comes in the form of a white powder and is highly alkaline. The system is coloured on site by mixing it with powdered mineral pigments and water, after which it hardens to form an impact-resistant layer with a matt, chalky stucco finish or a rough, natural texture.
Crustal can be protected against moisture and stains by applying a thin coat of Uniwall 1KPU varnish. If a decorative finish using colour shades has been applied using CrustalAccent (pigmented water and CrustalDispers), this must first be sealed with an even coat of CrustalFix before any additional protective coating is applied. Always carry out representative tests beforehand.
Crustal is intended exclusively for indoor use on stable, solid, dry and clean walls. The product can be applied to virtually all common mineral building materials and building boards, provided the substrate has been properly prepared beforehand. To achieve the best result, high-quality workmanship is essential.
